Nuisance Wildlife Removal
Wild animals are often drawn to residential areas
for easy access to food, water and shelter. One of the most effective ways to
keep unwanted critters away from your area is to limit access to these
resources. Some helpful suggestions:
Be sure your garbage
receptacle has a latched, tight-fitting lid
Do not leave pet food
or table scraps outside overnight
Patch holes or other
openings that lead to attics, crawl spaces, cellars, etc.
Make sure all
outbuildings are secured to prevent animal entry
Haul away any
accumulations of materials such as tires or tree limbs that provide hiding
There are several species that are native to this
area and have adapted to living amongst people. It is not uncommon to see
Virginia Opossums, Striped Skunks, Northern Raccoons, and even Red Foxes here
Most of these animals will be harmless and should be left alone.
However, wildlife can become a nuisance to people.
If you have an animal that appears sick or injured, is damaging property,
living in an inappropriate place, or threatening you or your pet's welfare
please contact Law Enforcement for assistance.
